We're excited to announce that we are expecting our first shipment of High Gear watches this week! Initially we'll carry the Summit, Loft, and Axis.
I've been using the Axis for about a year now and love it, both for it's functionality and because of it's price point. We're planning on running a sale on High Gear watches starting on or before 8/7. Keep an eye out because these will be the best prices you can find (and always free shipping).

Who is Outside Electronics? Right now we're Tony and Beth Berwald - same people who managed the non-profit Raceday (http://www.racedayinc.org) and brought the North Georgia and Smoky Mountains Adventure Races to the southeast United States. We both have extensive interactive experience in the corporate world (JWT, Georgia Pacific, EzGov, etc) and know how to treat people the right way. That's our goal. Period.
I'm creating this initially to serve a log of the successes and challenges facing us as we create http://outsideelectronics.com. We're creating Outside Electronics - an online shop carrying outdoor electronic items (obviously) such as GPS, watches and heart rate monitors. Right now we're just going to focus on outdoor activities such as hiking, running, camping but hope to eventually enter into more mainstream electronic items such as cameras, automotive GPS units, and outdoor lighting.
So where are we? Right now the site is live and you can make purchases. I'm not happy with the look and feel of the site yet or the entire user experience. We want quality, not shoddiness so we're holding off on beginning any sort of aggressive marketing campaign. Look for the Free Gear Sweepstakes to kick off July 15 though - we're giving away store credit on the first of the month August through December.
